Soccer at St Brendans

Girl’s Soccer:

St Brendan’s College has an U17  Girls soccer team. In the first year the school entered the competition, our senior girls made the All-Ireland final where we only lost by a goal against strong opposition from Limerick. In our second year, we were defeated by Our Lady’s in the Connacht Final.

In 2013 our seniors won the All-Ireland in a thrilling final against Ramsgrange in February in Athlone.

The girls train at least once if not twice a week coming up to the games.

Boy’s Soccer:

St Brendan’s College are running three boys’ soccer teams this year:

1st year, U15 and U19 due to a huge interest from the students

The groups for the 1st year soccer is Balla, Foxford and Our Ladys Secondary School, we  played against Balla and beat them convincingly 7.0

In the senior competition we were knocked out in the group stage.

The groups for the U15′s soccer are Santa Maria and Our Ladys Secondary School.  This team at u14’s last year got beaten in the Connacht Final so we hope to go one better this year.
